Cut. – It refers to an abrupt, transition or replacement of one film to another.

Continuity editing – Refers to a kind of an editing that makes a film transition from one shot to another smoothly without interference of the flow of the of the story for the viewer.

Cross cutting- This editing technique is used in films to establish action occurring at the same time, simultaneously and usually in the same place. It may show an example of activities of rich people and poor people simultaneously how they behave and react while waiting in line for a piece of scarce bread.

Dissolve. – This means a gradual scene escape and transitioning where the end of one shot is preceded by the genesis of another one.

 Editing. – This refers to arrangement of video shots and joining theme together to create complete film work. It’s both a creative and a technical part of the post production of film work.
